Victory Clarifies Motorcycle Production to Remain in USA, not Mexico-spun1


A recent press release from Polaris announced the American manufacturer is moving a few of their manufacturing to Mexico, "in an work to enhance its long-term competitive positioning, enhance operational efficiencies and position the enterprise for future development." The statement also outlined that "The realignment will cause the eventual sale or closure of Polaris' Osceola,Wisconsin manufacturing operations after a while," echoing the all-too-common departure of American-based manufacturing to much less expensive areas overseas.

But a follow-up missive clarified that "Victory Freedom V-Twin engines - a proprietary and original style and design to the Victory brand - are going to be moved towards the Spirit Lake, Iowa, USA plant in 2011." The decidedly significantly less buzzword-intensive electronic mail also emphasized the prior message's statement that "Victory motorbike assembly will stay in the Company's Spirit Lake facility," cheekily incorporating that, "Victory motorcycles are nevertheless American Motorcycles - should you do not feel so I'd recommend not yelling your viewpoint out within the cafeteria in Spirit Lake!"

These are striving times for American manufacturing, so it can be understandable that Victory feels the want to clarify their stance.
